Overview Managing diversity has become important in the last few years. Globalisation has demanded that managers are not only able to manage diversity but also make use of it to forge ahead. Diversity refers to the basic human differences among a given population e.g: race, religion, gender, ethnicity, physical ability, age and social class, etc. This talk will focus on Malaysia and on Ann Morrison’s study on Diversity. Content/Objectives 1.

the key elements involved in managing diversity 3. Evaluation their own understanding of diversity in the Malaysian context. |

Non-Members (RM45) and above only. Group Members are advised to nominate senior members of the organizations to this talk. Facilitator S. Hadi Abdullah K.M.N., MMIM, MIM-CPT held various positions from managerial to senior management. In the civil service, he rose from the position of Administrative Officer to that of Deputy Director General of a statutory organisation under the Prime Minister’s Department. He joined the Malaysian Institute of Management as a Faculty Member (Lecturer). He soon rose to the position of Dean of the Faculty before he ventured as a Consultant and Trainer in 2003. He has varied experience in the field of education and training. He has held practical sessions in Training Needs Analysis having conducted them for MIM, FELDA and CELCURE. He is also a certified Cross-Cultural Trainer with Berlitz USA. Hadi is also a certified trainer in Action Learning as propounded by RAVEN. Besides that, he trains in outdoor experiential learning training methods from Singapore. He has trained managers both locally and overseas. Hadi’s articles have been published in numerous journals and periodicals. He regularly contributes to “MIM-SPEAKS” in the Sunday Star. Hadi has written a book “The Way of the World” and was the principal author of the books “Management in Malaysia”; “Voice of Management”; “1001 Management Terms”; and “Towards a Civil Society”. Recently he has edited the books “Universal Values and Human Renewal” and “Fighting Corruption: My Mission” by Tunku Abdul Aziz. |
