Imbued with Integrity, Endowed with Ethics:
Foundation for Managing Malaysia through Enlightened, Value-driven Leadership

We live in an unprecedented era when never before in history has such a myriad of adversities beset nations around the world - global warming, pollution, pandemic, natural catastrophe, terrorism, war, nuclear threat and moral decay, among others. Apart from the global economic quagmire that we strive to lift ourselves from, Malaysia also faces its own unique set of internal challenges. Meanwhile, amid the backdrop of today's ubiquitous new media - a double-edged sword that can either alleviate or aggravate a problem - it is no secret that critical political and social issues in our multicultural context confront our leadership now.

What are we to do at these crossroads? We could articulate all our best intentions and formulate the best rules with our abundant knowledge and intellect, but that alone would fail as an elegant shell with no soul. Instead, it must begin within the core of our beings. We must first be imbued with integrity and endowed with ethical values - these are the building blocks of a truly enduring foundation for managing Malaysia, one that nurtures value-driven leadership at all levels of our society: families, corporations, institutions and government. Only with a solid foundation of integrity and ethical values can our leaders be liberated from selfish agendas and unscrupulous temporal gratification, to faithfully execute their mandate to lead the nation with wisdom and authenticity. And such enlightened leadership would surely inspire and reinforce the rest of the rakyat to harmoniously propel Malaysia to the glorious standing it deserves!
